Koh 3,1 fungiert demnach weder nur als ihr Abschluss, noch hat sie nur als Überschrift zum Gedicht über die Zeit zu gelten; vielmehr ist seine Funktion als Scharniervers neu zu bestimmen ist. In this paper the phrase ~ymvh txt is examined throughout the book of Ecclesiastes. After analyzing the three occurances of the phrase in Eccl (1,13; 2,3; 3,1), the hypothesis is established that it is used to structure the so-called royal fiction. Eccl 3,1 thus functions not only as its ending, nor does it have to be considered only as the title for the Time-Poem; rather it needs to be redefined as a hinge-verse. |
