| Summary: | The author studies the meanings of the words exorcist, obsessed and exorcism, drawing his conclusions from consolidated authors of the canonistic tradition. Through a comparison of the terminology used in the Rituals of Exorcism of 1614 and 2004, of the Codes of Canon Law of 1917 and 1983, and of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the author offers a complete perspective of the liturgical and disciplinary norms so as to help and guide the reader in a correct application of the norms. Particular attention is given to the liturgical-canonical qualification of the exorcism of Leo XIII. |
