Throughout its various chapters, the work introduces us briefly to the Roman armed forces, then continues with the relationship between the army and the tradicional Roman religion before Christianity. A later section is dedicated to references to the Roman army in the New Testament. The two main chapters discuss Christians, the war and the army before and after AD 313, the key date in which the Christian religion became realised through the Edict of Milan. All of this of course without forgetting a section dedicated to the sources of all above mentioned, whose most significant texts pepper the article where necessary, in the work itsself as well as in footnotes. Finally, as is expected, a conclusion and bibliography about the theme | ||
