Jub. 49:22—50:5 reckons 2410 years from the time of creation until the exodus, plus 40 years in the wilderness of Sinai, to arrive at a total of 2450 years for the period from creation to the entry into Canaan. But Jub. 50:1—5 apparently exegetes this chronology for the "epoch of wrath" as well. In other words the Jubilean writer reckoned 100 jubilees (4900 years) from creation until the eschaton. If so, the 410 years of CD 1:1—10 plus the 40 years of CD 20:15 form part of a larger reckoning connected with this 2450—year period. | ||
