Summary: | Amongst the various challenges to the continuity and strengthen of ecumenism in Brazil, just like in other latitudes, is the development of a spirituality that integrates praxis and aspirations that promote the dialogue and the cooperation among churches. The spiritual divergences are deeper than the doctrinal ones among churches, and the most the churches spiritually commune the most they may dialogue about the doctrines they share. This is the reason why it is important for churches to enlarge their consciousness regarding to common spirituality they have. Even if there is a doctrinal divergence, they commune in the spiritual horizon that serves as a basis and support for the dialogue that aims mutual acknowledgement, acceptance and communion in faith and mission. Therefore, it is fundamental to identify the nature of the ecumenical spirituality and the elements that constitute it, checking how they are developed in each church spirituality and, with this starting point, in the local ecumenical movement.
