Zunächst werden humanwissenschaftliche Aspekte zum Phänomen Transsexualität präsentiert, um dann die Auswirkungen der Transsexualität auf die kirchliche Ehefähigkeit aufzuzeigen. Dabei wird in einem ersten Schritt auf einschlägige Rota-Urteile und Urteile deutschsprachiger Gerichte zum Phänomen Transsexualität eingegangen. Davon ausgehend werden dann in einem zweiten Schritt allgemeine Hinweise für die rechtliche Beurteilung von Transsexualität in Bezug auf die kirchliche Ehefähigkeit gegeben.
