AB Der Beitrag untersucht die theologische und kanonistische Diskussion der Frage, ob Kinder gegen den Willen ihrer Eltern zu taufen sind. Dazu werden die Positionen namhafter Autoren des 12.-18. Jh. sowie die einschlägigen Entscheidungen römischer Dikasterien im 17.-19. Jh. dargestellt. Utrum parvuli sint invitis parentibus baptizandi? A quest for the roots of can. 868 § 2 CIC [Code of Canon Law]. The present contribution examines the theological and canonistic dis cussion on whether children are to be baptized contrary to their parents' will. For that purpose, the opinions of famous authors of the 12 th to the 18 th century as well as the relevant decisions of roman dicasteries from the 17 th to the 19 th century are portrayed.
