The ethical exposition of the problem around medical decisions at the end of life places the subject within the tension between autonomy and care and points out the central areas of conflict. Not only the situation in the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland is of special interest, but also the possibilities and limits of palliative medical care of the seriously ill and dying. The author forcefully calls for a better education of medical and paramedical staff with respect to moral and existential questions that arise in the context of self-determination and dying. | ||
