This essay examines the legal and social position of these groups in Alexandria which often jealously defended their privileges against rivalling claims. A short look into the background of the anti-Jewish pogroms under Caligula concludes the study. | ||

Der Aufsatz untersucht die recht-lichen und sozialen Aspekte des spannungsreichen Zusammenlebens dieser Gruppen, die ihre rechtlichen Privilegien und gesellschaftliche Stellung oft eifersüchtig gegeneinander verteidigten. Ein kurzer Blick auf die Hintergründe und rechtlichen Implikationen der antijüdischen Ausschreitungen unter Caligula schließt den Beitrag ab. | ||
