Summary: | The discourse on UNIO MYSTICA, which continental protestant theology held in the seventeenth century appears in devotional texts as well as in compendia. Theoretical approaches tend to assimilate it into justification modelling and a wide range of topics, such as transformation by subjectivity, ethics and the tradition of a personal God. All deal with the paradox of telling and not telling the secret of how the soul is probably unified with God. Apart form the light of substance theories, and for contemporary thought, this unification may be interpreted as an agreement under polycontextural conditions. |
