The processional siege of Jericho gives a key how to understand the group specified as oi` proa,gontej (V.39), Jesus giving them a command (evke,leusen, V.40), the healed follower and all the people (pa/j o` lao,j, V.43) praising God. While the blind man at Jericho recognizes VIhsou/n to.n Nazwrai/on as a son of David. Though the blind man’s crying affirms that Jesus at Jericho evokes in the mind of the people Joshua conquerring this city, yet he differentiates Jesus from the conqueror Joshua and confesses him as the Lord. | ||

Dagegen erkennt der Blinde bei Jericho VIhsou/n to.n Nazwrai/on als Sohn Davids. Auch wenn das Schreien des Blinden bekräftigt, dass Jesus bei Jericho in dem Verständnis des Volkes Josua, den Eroberer der Stadt, evoziert, unterscheidet der Blinde Jesus von dem Eroberer Josua und bekennt ihn als den Herrn. | ||
