520 |a The author departs from the cultural situation that culminates in the twentieth century, the unnameable and most bloodthirsty of history, to conclude that it is necessary to radically change the concept of person. In the West, this conception orbits around the "I", seeing the other as the not-being (Fichte) or also as hell (Sartre). It is proper to overcome also the philosophical nihilism that ends in the theology of impiety (Sgalambro) and to augur a future to humanity under the mark of the relational personalism. This is a lesson that comes from the Trinity, where persons are constituted by subsisting relationships. Nonetheless, just in Mary's person a future anthropologic model is offered to us because in her the two essential elements of the person converge: the thinking and responsible "I". Mary presents a high value example in the Annunciation and in the meditation of Christ's event, and relational being, that makes her a woman entirely oriented to God and to brethren. Bérulle and Montfort are authors of Christian tradition who stress the total relationship of Mary, making her coincide with her own being.
