This concept is condensing fundamental aspects of his theology: the focalisation on Jesus Christ, the attention for philology (in his work on the concepts of sin and justice), and the reception of the "German mysticism" with its interpretation of physical and spiritual suffering as a hint on God's saving work on human beings. In this way, the cross of Christ is read as the exclusive soteriological event: the redemption of humanity is realised when God seems to be paradigmatically absent ("My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"). In the 19th and 20th century, this theological interpretation of a secularised world experience has strongly attracted the theological research on Luther. (English) | ||
