Cet article se propose de décrire et problématiser ce déplacement de perspective. L’institution de soin au Québec comme ailleurs en Amérique du Nord et en Occident, explore activement une dimension de son action qu’elle peine à définir tout en reconnaissant qu’il y a là quelque chose d’incontournable dans sa mission de soigner et de guérir. | ||
| 520 | |a In Quebec in the past decades, the acknowledgement of the religious and spiritual needs of patients has continued unabated alongside a transformation of institutional responses. It is evolving from a sacral and ritual model to a conversational one that lies within the psychological parameters of the biomedical institution concerned with respecting the liberty of the consciousness. This article retraces and problematizes this shift in perspectives. The institution of health care in Quebec, as elsewhere in North America and in the West, is actively exploring a facet of its work that it has difficulty in defining all the while recognizing that it is a fundamental facet of its mission to care for and heal its patients. | ||
