Romero (1917-1980), además de pastor y mártir de los pobres, fue un profeta y un maestro, que “sentía con la Iglesia” del Concilio Vaticano II. Muchas de las enseñanzas contenidas en sus homilías están inspiradas directamente en la visión escatológica de la Constitución pastoral Gaudium et Spes. La suya es una contribución a la recepción de un documento que nació con la vocación de ser continuamente actualizado e inculturado (cf. GS 91b). The Archibishop of San Salvador, Blessed Mons. Oscar A. Romero (1917-1980) was not only the Pastor and Martir of the Poor, but also a Prophet and a Master, who “felt with the Church” of the Second Vatican Council. A lot of his teachings, taken from his Homilies, are straight inspired on the eschatological approach of the Pastoral Constitution Gaudium et Spes. He offers a contribution for the reception of a document that was born to be continously updated and inculturated (cf. GS 91b). |
