Practical wisdom advises to submit to these kings, though. The (fictitiously) royal philosopher and author, traditionally identified with King Solomon, is a Jewish ideal king, who is in contrast with the actually ruling Hellenistic kings. 
520 |a Die ausgewählten Abschnitte Koh 8,2-9; 9,13-18; 10,6-7.16-20 wurden offenkundig bewusst mehrdeutig formuliert, um verschleiert Kritik an nicht-israelitischen, vermutlich hellenistischen Herrschern zu üben, die durch ihr Verhalten die Weltordnung stören. Dennoch gebietet es die praktische Weisheit, sich ihnen unterzuordnen. Der philosophisch-weise König, der traditionell als Salomo identifiziert wird und der Buchfiktion zu Folge Verfasser dieser Schrift ist, steht als jüdischer Idealkönig in Kontrast zur historischen Realität hellenistischer Könige.
