| Summary: | The paper examines selected passages from Qohelet, namely 8:2-9; 9:13-18; 10:6-7, 16-20. These were obviously presented equivocally in order to mask criticism of non-Israelite Hellenistic rulers whose behaviour interferes with the order of the world. Practical wisdom advises to submit to these kings, though. The (fictitiously) royal philosopher and author, traditionally identified with King Solomon, is a Jewish ideal king, who is in contrast with the actually ruling Hellenistic kings. Die ausgewählten Abschnitte Koh 8,2-9; 9,13-18; 10,6-7.16-20 wurden offenkundig bewusst mehrdeutig formuliert, um verschleiert Kritik an nicht-israelitischen, vermutlich hellenistischen Herrschern zu üben, die durch ihr Verhalten die Weltordnung stören. Dennoch gebietet es die praktische Weisheit, sich ihnen unterzuordnen. Der philosophisch-weise König, der traditionell als Salomo identifiziert wird und der Buchfiktion zu Folge Verfasser dieser Schrift ist, steht als jüdischer Idealkönig in Kontrast zur historischen Realität hellenistischer Könige. |
