Człowiek jest narażony na różnego rodzaju trudności, pokusy, które musi pokonywać, i jest w stanie to robić, prowadząc życie według Ducha. Teologia Pawła wskazuje na życie zgodne z wiarą w dzieło zbawcze Jezusa. Żyć to znaczy istnieć nie dla siebie, ale dla Niego, ponieważ nowe życie właściwy kształt przybierze dopiero, kiedy rozpocznie się pełnia przebywania z Jezusem. Zadaniem człowieka jest nieustanne kształtowanie chrześcijańskiego życia przez akceptację i zachowanie przykazań oraz uświęcanie siebie. Te działania powinny wykraczać daleko, tak, by ich owoce były zauważalne poza granicami ludzi wierzących, po to, by niewierzący zrozumieli i dostrzegli w nich Boże działanie. Paweł podkreśla też, iż życie wieczne streszcza w sobie wszystkie obietnice które dał Jezus. | ||
| 520 | |a The aim of St. Paul’s theological thought presented in the Letter to the Philippians is to show that earthly life is a full of hope waiting for meeting with Jesus and that the totality of eternal life depends of temporal life. Man is exposed to all sorts of difficulties and temptations but he or she is able to overcome them on condition that he or she leads the life according to the Spirit. St. Paul’s theological thought emphasizes that human life should go in accord with faith in the saving mission of Jesus. To live - means to exist not just for himself or herself, but for Him, because new life will have its proper shape only when we start the fullness of being with Jesus. The man’s task is shaping continually the Christian life through the acceptance and observance of the commandments and the sanctification of each other. These actions should go further, so that their fruits were noticeable outside of believers community, in order that unbelievers may recognize God acting in believers. St. Paul emphasizes also that eternal life is a summation of all the promises given by Jesus. | ||
