Mais prêtant attention aux différents éléments du récit, Patrick Kipasa Mayifulu entend montrer que le jeu de la femme est en réalité un échec. Lorsque, en colère, Putiphar envoie Joseph en prison, c’est une contre-ruse qu’il déploie. Il met en œuvre une astuce qui consiste à faire croire à tous que le coupable reçoit le châtiment qu’il mérite, alors que la sanction est en réalité un moyen de protéger Joseph. | ||

But paying attention to different elements of the story, it can be argued that the woman’s trick actually failed. When in anger, Potiphar sends Joseph to prison, he is also using ruse. Indeed, he tricks everyone into believing that the “culprit” has received the punishment he deserves, while it is actually a way to protect Joseph. | ||
