Sumario:The essay discusses the "contemporary derailment" of religious Judaism and its impact on the Israeli society. The discussion centers around four "deviations": (1) subordination of the rule of law to the principle of faith; (2) the assertion that the redemption of the people exempts the individual from normative Jewish standards of behavior; (3) conferring excessive authority upon the rabbis at the expense of individual judgement; and (4) abrogation of the sense of sin and "fear of Heaven", causing severing from simple morality and the spirit of the Bible itself.
