Comment l’historiographie religieuse française, qui s’est renouvelée depuis cinquante ans, s’est-elle ouverte aux problématiques, elles-mêmes évolutives, de l’histoire de la première guerre mondiale? Parfois sous-estimée dans les études générales sur 1914-1918, elle s’attache à la diversité des expressions religieuses, aux interprétations théologiques du conflit, à l’action humanitaire, aux dévotions, à la mobilisation institutionnelle. Il reste à approfondir l’action des évêques, le rôle des religieuses, la mémoire confessionnelle de la guerre ou les effets de celle-ci sur l’Église, dans une perspective internationale et comparative. | ||
| 520 | |a This article attempts to examine the religious historiography of 1914-18 in relation to the history of the war and religious history by focussing on the interactions between ‘war and the faith’. Its objective is to identify key moments, themes and areas not yet studied by researchers. How did French religious historiography, which has experienced renewal over the past fifty years, respond to the key questions, which were themselves in a state of flux, concerning the First World War’s history? Often underestimated in the general histories of 1914-18, French religious history focusses on the diversity of religious expression, the theological interpretations of the conflict, humanitarian action, devotions, and institutional mobilisation. The actions of the bishops, the role of nuns, the confessional memory of the war and its effects on the church - all still need to be studied, and in an international and comparative perspective. | ||
| 520 | |a Der Beitrag untersucht die Religionsgeschichtsschreibung zwischen 1914 und 1918 im Hinblick auf die Geschichte des Kriegs und der Religionsgeschichte; dabei fragt er nach der Wechselwirkung zwischen "Krieg und Glauben". Schlüsselmomente möchte er ebenso herausarbeiten wie neue Forschungsansätze und -felder. In welcher Weise stellte sich die französische Religionsgeschichte, die sich seit fünfzig Jahren neu entwickelt hat, den Problematiken, die sich aus der Geschichte des Ersten Weltkriegs ergeben und selber evolutiv sind? In den Gesamtdarstellungen zu 1914-1918 oftmals unterschätzt, richtet sie den Fokus auf die unterschiedlichen religiösen Ausdrucksformen, die theologischen Interpretationen des Konflikts, humanitäre Aktionen, die Frömmigkeit und die institutionelle Mobilisierung. Näher zu untersuchen, und zwar in internationaler und vergleichender Perspektive, bleiben noch die Rolle der Bischöfe und der Nonnen, die Erinnerung an den Krieg im Gedächtnis der Konfessionen und seine Auswirkungen auf die Kirche. | ||
