Whereas the Muslim Brothers with their goal to re-islamize society postponed the liberation of Palestine this new Islamic movement favored an immediate armed struggle against occupation. The authors further examine the Islamic movements' relation to the P.L.O. and to Israel, which "believed that the rise of fundamentalism in Gaza could be exploited to undermine the power of the P.L.O."
