Der Autorin, Kirchenrechtlerin in Regensburg, gelingt es, die als schwierig und trocken geltende Materie verständlich und frappierend lebendig dazulegen. Hervorragend strukturiert (gut orientierendes Inhaltsverzeichnis, Randstichwörter, grau unterlegte Quellentexte und "Anregungen zum Weiterdenken") geht das Werk in 4 Teilen auf die Themen Rechtsbegründung (theologische Grundlagen usw.), Rechtsquellen (kirchliche Gesetzbücher), Rechtsgrundsätze (z.B. Rechtsauslegung, Sicht des 2. Vatikanums) und exemplarische Rechtsbereiche (z.B. Stellung der Laien in der Kirche, eherechtliche Probleme) ein. Reformoffen, kritisch auch gegen innerkirchliche Praktiken, Weiterentwicklungen anmahnend eignet sich das Buch (mit Anhang: Literatur, Stichwort- und Canones-Register) entsprechend der Reihenkonzeption für Studierende wie weithin auch für theologisch etwas vorbereitete Interessierte. Zum Thema vorrangig empfohlen, daneben "Lexikon des Kirchenrechts". (3)
