Description
Résumé:This book "is primarily a theological exploration of the theme of the Sixth Assembly of the World Council of Churches. That theme, 'Jesus Christ: the Life of the World', is 'doxological offering of praise to the 'Jesus Christ' whom Christians confess to be the gracious store of the world's life, both eternal and temporal, as its Saviour and Lord'. Four sub-themes have been adopted for the Assembly -- life a gift of God, life confronting and overcoming death, life in its fullness, and life in unity. Eight issues have also been chosen for the Assembly, each of them representing `a point of entry which leads to a particular emphasis in the overall work of the Council'. [This book] seeks to illustrate the inter-relations between the theme, the sub-themes and the Issues, and to show how theu are integrated both structurally and theologically". -- back cover.
