Not extensively commented on, however, is the equally important fundamental ecclesiology within which this method is situated and grounded. In this article, I attempt to address this lack by identifying the Church as hermeneutical sacrament, a move which is indebted to Chauvet, but one which also enhances and builds upon its latent hermeneutical potential. In order to do this, I utilise Lieven Boeve’s theology of interruption, resulting in a relecture of Chauvet's theology for a Western context marked by the Postmodern epistemological critique. | ||
