In our aging Western European societies this means that Practical Theology will have to consider the growing number of elderly persons whom the Christian message has to address. This article mentions some of the developments that take place in later life and reflects on what the aging of society means for the context, content and form of the sermon. It distinguishes between younger seniors (65-80 years old) and people of high age (those over 80) and It begins to develop a "senior-sensitive" homiletics and liturgy. Among other things, the author suggests holding integrative services which accommodate people of different generations, without neglecting the needs of seniors. | ||
