La compréhension, tout comme la traduction est sujet et objet d'un savoir propre. On peut dès lors transférer à l'herméneutique les deux formules directrices par lesquelles Antoine Berman définit le travail du traducteur : « l'épreuve de l'étranger » et « l'auberge du lointain », ce qui revient à se demander si l'herméneutique, tout comme la traductologie, n'a pas besoin d'une analytique pour mener son projet à bien., Contrary to what has sometimes been suspected, hermeneutics, that is, the theory of the operations of understanding involved in the interpretation of texts, and traductology as the reflection upon the act of translating, cannot be set in opposition, because on both sides, it is a question of the original relationship of an irreducible experience to reflection on that very experience. Understanding as well as translating are the subject and the object of specific knowledge. Therefore, one can apply to hermeneutics the two guiding formulas by which Antoine Berman characterises the tasks of the translator : the trial of meeting with a stranger and lodging in the distant inn. This also implies the question of whether hermeneutics, as well as traductology, does not require an analytic. | ||
