The author examines the contents and compares them with the numerous contemporary incantations and prayers involving non-biblical angels and describes the diffusion of the text, which exists in four other redactions all later than that in the Cologne Cathedral Library of the 9-10th cent., which was edited by Leclercq. The author examines the origin and destiny of their mysterious protagonist: archangel Pantasaron, perhaps of Jewish provenance, who at the moment is not attested in any earlier source than the Nomina. | ||
