Descrição
Resumo:In order to relate Luther's idea of the bondage of the will to Paul's writings, the paper first looks at how the apostle (a) depicts the human will both under the dominion of sin and in the realm of God's spirit, (b) treats faith as both a gift from God and an act of the human heart, and (c) combines the idea of God's providence with the identification of humans as «those loved by God.» This procedure brings to light points of correspondence as well as points of contrast between Luther and Paul.
