AB Pagan criticism of the Bible is here illustrated by highlighting the main objections Celsus, Porphyry and Julian the Apostate raised against the Book of Genesis. Special attention is paid to their criticisms of the image of God as he is portrayed in the opening chapters of Genesis. Finally the article briefly sketches the philosophical background of these criticisms.
