An analysis of syntax and semantics reveals the grammatical errors of the traditional view of John 12,39–40. The newly analysed text is the basis of a new translation. If this proposed new meaning of the text is used for interpretation, there is no crux interpretum. | ||

Einige moderne Übersetzungen interpolieren an dieser Stelle– gegen alle Handschriften– „Gott“ als Subjekt des Satzes. Diese Einfügung soll das Verständnis der Passage erleichtern. Allerdings ist die Interpolation unnötig und– da „Gott“ nicht das Subjekt von Joh12,40a ist– auch irreführend. Eine Analyse von Syntax und Semantik zeigt, dass die traditionelle Interpretation der Grammatik von falschen Voraussetzungen ausgeht. Auf der Basis der grammatikalischen Analyse ist eine neue Übersetzung möglich. Diese Übersetzung beseitigt die crux interpretum. | ||
