The authors distinguish the emerging field of fluid ritual musical practices and reinvent the concept of sacro-soundscapes as a notion that contributes to the interpretation of these practices. They claim that, consequentially, the aforementioned disciplines are included in this field and therefore change, as well. | ||

Es ist ein Beispiel dafür, wie christliche Musikformen auch in spätmodernen Netzwerkgesellschaften ihren Weg von den Kirchen in die Mitte der Gesellschaft finden. Weder die klassische akademische Disziplin der Hymnologie, noch das gegenwärtig entstehende interdisziplinäre Fach Christian Congregational Music Studies haben bisher theoretische Konzepte entwickelt, die dazu dienen, musikalische Praxis außerhalb des kirchlichen Raumes zu verstehen. Die Autoren beschreiben das entstehende Forschungsfeld als „fließende rituell-musikalische Praktiken“ und prägen dafür den Begriff der „sakralen Klanglandschaften“ (sacro-soundscapes), um zur Erklärung von Phänomenen wie The Passion beizutragen. Dabei argumentieren sie, dass die oben genannten Disziplinen Teil dieses neu entstehenden Forschungsfeldes sind und darum folgerichtig dem Wandel unterzogen sind. | ||
