| Sumario: | The subject touched upon in this book - which first appeared in Dutch - had already been prepared by several researchers. I will only mention two of them. First, Canon Roger Aubert who for a long time considered producing a scientific biography of the man who ruled the see of Malines from 1906 to 1926 ; he had the opportunity to publish substantial preparatory articles which dealt with various episodes from the life of Mercier, as well as a volume dedicated to the action of the prelate during the first year of the Great War. |
