Ausgangspunkt dieser Überlegungen sind die Herausforderungen, die die Neue Politische Theologie aufgeworfen hatte und die als bleibende Aufgabe im Raum stehen. Indem Butler als dritte Gesprächspartnerin in den nicht immer einfachen Dialog von Neuer Politischer Theologie und theologischer Ethik eingeführt wird, lassen sich diese Aufgaben und Herausforderungen aufnehmen und zugleich weiterdenken. So lässt sich eine Ethik in den Blick nehmen, die ihre wesentliche Aufgabe in der Kritik sieht, die auf ethische Gewaltlosigkeit abzielt und die sich im Spannungsfeld im von Anthropologie, Gesellschaftstheorie und politischer Verantwortung verortet.In dialogue with the political philosophy of Judith Butler (specifically her theory of post-sovereign subjects and the critique of ethical violence) my article sketches a politico-theological ethics that understands ethics as critique. My starting point are the challenges formulated by the New Political Theology, which remain relevant to this day. By introducing Butler as a third element into the (often difficult) debate between New Political Theology and Theological Ethics, these challenges can be taken up and thought about anew. This allows us to focus on an ethic as critique, non-violent and situated between anthropology, social theory and political responsibility.
