The article provides a fundamental definition of the relationship between pastoral care and education. First defining the term education on the one hand and the term pastoral care on the other hand ,the article suggests an understanding of both concepts as two different and autonomous entities, which are related to one another by their common option for subjectivity as well as by their option forsolidarity. Using the example of initiating peace-building processes between hostile ethnic groups in aparish in Kenya, the article illustrates how both pastoral care and education can support the options. |
