According to Kant, the Christian churches are historically indispensable in the evolution of the moral predispositions and religious convictions of the human species, and in the process of cultivating a critically disciplined moral religion. This essay highlights the tension between a rational understanding of moral faith and an embedded approach that winds up with an apology of Christianity. |
