| Résumé: | In this article, I argue that Jean-Luc Marion’s concept of the saturated phenomenon offers a new way of thinking the relation between God and the human person. I show that the saturated phenomenon allows us to construct the relation between incommensurable terms (God and the human being) without requiring a similitude to mediate the relation. This essay will be published in two parts. In Part One of this essay (here below), I ground my argument in Thomas Aquinas’s doctrine of relation, and, through Pascal, link Marion’s understanding of “infinite distance” to Aquinas’s understanding of relation. As a consequence of this analysis, in Part Two I will develop a new concept of relation.Part Two will be published in the next issue. If similitude always threatens to abolish the alterity of the terms of the relation, in this case, alterity is maintained not by removing relation but by increasing it to the level of hyperbole. In diesem Artikel argumentiere ich, dass Jean-Luc Marions Begriff des saturierten Phänomens zu einem neuen Ansatz im Denken der Gott-Mensch-Relation führt. Ich demonstriere, wie das saturierte Phänomen die Konstruktion einer Relation zwischen inkommensurablen Größen (Gott und Mensch) ermöglicht, ohne dabei auf die Gleichheit zwischen diesen beiden Größen rekurrieren zu müssen, um deren Relation zu vermitteln. Der Artikel wird in zwei Teilen publiziert. Im ersten Teil des Artikels (siehe unten) lege ich die Grundlage meiner Argumentation in Thomas von Aquins Relationsbegriff, um Marions Verständnis der unendlichen Distanz über Blaise Pascal mit diesem Relationsbegriff zu verknüpfen. Darauf aufbauend entwickle ich im zweiten Teil des Artikels einen neuen Relationsbegriff. Wenn der Rekurs auf die Gleichheit zwischen zwei Größen immer Gefahr läuft, Alterität aufzulösen, dann lässt sich – so argumentiere ich im Anschluss an Marion – diese Alterität nicht durch die Beseitigung, sondern nur durch die Steigerung der Beziehung erhalten – eine Steigerung bis hin zur Hyperbel. |
