In this context, “eschatology” proves to be an unsatisfactory term, and to eschaton is not a New Testament term at all. Telos, as both fulfilment and Person (so G. B. Caird), and teleiosis (as “bringing to wholeness”) are more promising, especially in the context of diverse world faiths and of the earth’s limited physical future.
