Summary:The author reflects on equality, justice and fairness in the parable of the vineyard in the book of Matthew 20:1 to 16 where the owner paid a denarius to all his workers regardless of the number of hours they spent on work. She says that the parable creates a dilemma that equality is sometimes applies to unequal circumstances. She notes that the clamoring workers failed to realized that adding more workers has reduced their jobs. She compares the owner to a parent who equally loves his first child and last child.
