Summary:This article discusses the issue of deconstructing and reconstructing the scriptural principle of the Reformation. As will be shown, such a reconstruction in the light of reader-response-criticism requires engagement with the concerns of the classical doctrine of inspiration. It also allows a fresh look at the fact and the hermeneutical problem that there exists a variety of concepts of a Christian canon of the Bible.
