By utilizing Wirkungsgeschichte, this article demonstrates that early Pentecostal interpretations were not monolithic when interpreting bestial texts. Dispensationalism did not control their interpretations. The Apocalypse had a significant impact on early Pentecostal reflection including their criticism of issues associated with World War i.
