| Summary: | This inaugural lecture adresses the topic of Christian contemporaneity as a core issue of practical theology today. In the light of the antagonisms of late modernity, this contemporaneity faces the risks of Christian discipleship in our times. Reflecting upon this challenge, Catholic practical theology transcends its own shape as a premodern theology just for priests and as a modern theology of the church, respectively. It moves towards a late modern theology of human experience as such, marked by the discursive transition from K. Rahner’s Handbuch der Pastoraltheologie to H. Haslinger’s Handbuch der Praktischen Theologie. Therefore, practical theology has to redefine its own scientific practices of SEEING (heterotopias instead of atopias and utopias, cf. Michel Foucault), JUDGING (abduction instead of deduction and induction, cf. Charles S. Peirce) and ACTING (situative instead of constative and performative speech acts, cf. Jacques Derrida). Diese Antrittsvorlesung thematisiert christliche Zeitgenossenschaft als einen zentralen Gegenstand der Praktischen Theologie. Im Widerstreit der späten Moderne stellt diese Zeitgenossenschaft sich dem Risiko christlicher Nachfolge in der eigenen Zeit. Indem katholische Praktische Theologie auf diese Herausforderung reflektiert, überschreitet sie ihr Format einer vormodernen Priestertheologie bzw. einer modernen Kirchentheologie in Richtung einer spätmodernen Erfahrungstheologie, die ihrerseits durch den diskursiven Übergang von K. Rahners Handbuch der Pastoraltheologie und H. Haslingers Handbuch der Praktischen Theologie markiert wird. Dazu muss die Praktische Theologie ihre eigenen wissenschaftlichen Praktiken des SEHENS (Heterotopien statt Atopien und Utopien, vgl. M. Foucault), des URTEILENS (Abduktion statt Deduktion und Induktion, vgl. Ch. S. Peirce) und des HANDELNS (Situative statt konstative und performative Sprechakte, vgl. J. Derrida) redefinieren. |
