The 430 years in Egypt are preceded by the 215 years (half of 430) of the ancestors’ stay in Canaan. In order to ensure that events align with the time period of 1200 years, Abraham’s move to Canaan is dated in his 75 th year. This salvation-historical concept aims to show that it is God who directs history; the data, therefore, are of no historical value. | ||
