These conflicts are theoretically contextualized within the sociological concept of the public domain. It becomes apparent that the public domain by no means is non-normative. To the contrary, it is a domain highly disputed and contested. As such conflicts indicate, a reconsideration and renegotiation of the public domain's contents appears necessary, providing forms and means for representing hitherto marginal groups, especially those of migrants, within the public domain. | ||
