RT Article T1 Religiöses Rechtsbewußtsein in Algerien JF Zeitschrift für Religionswissenschaft VO 2 IS 2 SP 103 OP 130 A1 Schulz, Hermann LA German PB Diagonal-Verlag YR 1994 UL https://ixtheo.de/Record/152310919X AB The primary concern of this essay is to examine certain historico-cultural perspectives of contemporary political Islam (Islamism) in Algeria. It centres upon the legal dimensions of a cultural consciousness that is particularly sensitive to its religious commitments; it deals with significant forces of colonial concepts of legality, specific influences of Berber and Mzab qawanin, reformism (islah), Marabutism and eventually secularism implicated in the mu'amalat- sections of Islamic fiqh. The Shari'a-centred Islamism represents a particular example of problem solutions emerging in processes of rapid technical, socio- economic, political and cultural change. DO 10.1515/0021.103
