Prepared by the Palestinian Ministry of Information. - December 1997. + Ausgelöst durch ein "internes" Papier des israelischen "Prime Minister's Office" wurde Ende 1997 in westlichen Medien, insbesondere in den USA, behauptet, daß die Palestinian National Authority die Christen in Westjordanland und Gaza verfolge. Die palästinensische Menschenrechtsorganisation "LAW" hat die Vorwürfe im Detail untersucht und kommt in ihrem Bericht zu dem Schluß, daß es zwar erhebliche Menschenrechtsverletzungen in den besetzten und selbstverwalteten palästinensischen Gebieten gibt, daß aber keinerlei Anzeichen auf eine PNA-Politik der Verfolgung von Christen aus religiösen Gründen hindeuten.
