Elle se base essentiellement sur les documents d'archives, sur des sources primaires et secondaires. Dans une dynamique historico-critique, elle decrit d'abord la region du Kwilu avec ses contours geographiques, son organisation socio-politique et economique, ainsi que les croyances religieuses des groupes qui la peuplent. Ensuite, elle traite de l'arrivee des jesuites au Kwango en 1893, puis de l'evolution de la mission jesuite au Kwilu sous les differentes juridictions des Superieurs Majeurs de la Mission du Kwango. Enfin, elle s'attache a degager les strategies utilisees, les methodes appliquees, les resultats obtenus. Le Kwilu s'en trouve profondement modifie. L'irruption coloniale accompagnee parfois de violences et l'oeuvre missionnaire jesuite ont remis en question le mode de vie traditionnel, les croyances ancestrales se voient delaissees et soumises au doute. | ||
