Sumario:The article presents the history of the development of the first typewriter capable of reproducing the Tibetan alphabet since 1947 with a focus on the alleged role of Moravian missionaries to the western Himalaya region in the device's evolution. The background of Moravian mission work in the region is outlined along with the alleged importance of reproduction of Tibetan church literature for local congregations.
