| Zusammenfassung: | This collection of papers is a result of the historic conference, "Women in the African diaspora: an interdisciplinary perspective", held June 12-14, 1983, at Howard University. The conference was convened by the Association of Black Women Historians to examine the role and place of women of the African diaspora. Ten of the papers were delivered at the conference; three additional papers were prepared to round out the collection and to provide suggestions for future research sources and topics.
