678 | |b My major research interest is in literature, classical Chinese poetry and aesthetics in particular. My other intellectual interests include philosophy, history, religion, and art theory. I received a PhD in East Asian Studies from Princeton University and have been appointed first as junior professor and then associate professor of sinology at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany. A monograph on Su Shi (1037-1101), the paradigmatic Song Dynasty poet, has been published by Brill in 2015. My current research is focused on the aesthetics and politics of lyric classicism in modern China, with a special interest on Wang Jingwei's (1883-1944) poetry and the memory of China's WWII collaboration. | ||
